Sayani Das, who is popular as the first Indian woman, has crossed the North Channel in 13 hours. She is known as Bengal’s open water oriented swimmer. Sayani initiated her journey from Donaghadee town in the Northern part of Ireland on 30th of August. Moreover, she completed her journey followed by reaching Portpatrick in Scotland. The stretch of her journey became 38 kilometers. This journey in the North Canal becomes the fifth open water based channel. Her target was to complete all open water centric channels. The names of 7 channels are the Catalina, the Malaki, the North Channel, the Tsugaru Strait, the Cook strait, the English Channel and the Strait of Gibraltar. Among these, Sayani has already completed 5 channels. Now, the remaining 2 channels have to be covered by Sayani.

The North Channel becomes the coldest swim among the above mentioned channels. The average temperature of this channel becomes 13 degree celsius. The temperature of residence and other activity based locations is generally more than 13 degree celsius. So, she has to adapt herself along by involving herself in a plastic drum. Therefore, she has to adjust his body by keeping her effort, achievements and perseverance. The swimmers of the North Channel have threatened with venom based jellyfish and sharks. Their tentacles are highly loaded with venoms. So, these are very sufficient to kill anyone through cardiac arrest.

Rimo Saha has also traveled this English Channel before Sayani Das. Among the aforementioned channels, the North Channel emerges into the coldest location to swim. This channel maintains an average ambient temperature of 13 degrees Celsius. Most residences and other activity-based places have temperatures above 13 degrees Celsius. She must involve herself in a plastic drum in order to adapt. North Channel swimmers are at peril from sharks and jellyfish which contain toxins. They have lots of venom in their tendrils.
