Jr NTR Expresses Desire to Collaborate with ‘Favourite Director’ Vetrimaaran: “I’ll Do a Straight Tamil Film”
Recently, at the promotional event in Chennai concerning his latest film, Devara: Part 1, Jr NTR’s confidence grew with a broad statement. There, he expressed a desire to work with Tamil acclaimed director Vetrimaaran. He termed him his “favourite director,” and that raised many fans’ expectations for collaboration. Jr NTR has agreed to be a part of the lead cast for Asuran and Viduthalai director when it is a straight Tamil film. “Of course, we can go ahead and dub it in Telugu, too,” he says.
This is certainly not the first time the idea of this collaboration has been floated. Vetrimaaran earlier stated that he had discussed projects with Jr NTR after Asuran. His precise filmmaking process often extends the time it takes to execute ideas. However, anticipation for these two big guns seems never to dissipate.
Standing before a crowd of journalists at the press meet, Jr NTR said that Indian cinema had undergone a sea change with the passage of time. Many would say the country was divided by language, but cinema has brought everyone together, he said, celebrating how successful films have helped break regional barriers and prove that audiences have begun embracing stories irrespective of their linguistic origins.
Jr NTR also discussed Chennai’s importance in Telugu cinema history. He stated that this city used to be the foundation of Telugu cinema. So, marketing Devara in Chennai seemed like going back to their roots.
With Devara: Part 1 airing on September 26 and a potential collaboration with Vetrimaaran ahead, Jr NTR keeps fans excited. Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor promise to be yet another blockbuster in their series of blockbusters.
