Exclusive: Struggle of Rahul Vaidya with Dengue and Recovery
One of the most famous artists, Rahul Vaidya and his wife Disha Parmar, an actress, have been waging a battle with dengue since they headed to Pune. Symptoms began to appear much later than that though both had been infected with the mosquito-borne disease while they were heading on 1 September. It was, after all the 5th night of a very trying health journey, Rahul said.
Rahul Vaidya talks about the time when dengue started and how high fever, shivering, and intense cold made a person bedridden for several days. I had a terribly high fever, felt cold, and was shivering badly. The 36-year-old singer shared that five tough days of illness made it hard to move from bed. He hoped nobody ever experience such suffering. His vivid memory brings forward the picture of how dengue may turn out to be physically taxing, even for a fit person.
His friend Disha Parmar, who had also accompanied him to the trip, got infected by the same disease at almost the same time. Given both are said to be recovering pretty well, he confesses that some more time would pass before they would be fully back to square one. “Our medicines are on, we are having light food and no exercise. It was a commitment to an event that I had to travel for a day in between otherwise we weren’t in a position to do so.”.
A bit platlets are low, we are getting blood tests done regularly and taking measures to enhance them, Rahul added.
Deal with Family and Missed Celebrations
Luckily, their daughter Navya escaped the tragedy as she did not accompany them on the trip. Rahul heaved a sigh of relief saying that Navya is being taken care of by her grandparents and that she is a calm and independent child. “Navya is absolutely fine, lucky vo nahi aayi thi Pune.”. Pehle vo bhi aane wali thi then by chance we changed the plan” Rahul continues. “Her daada daadi are taking care of her, helper bhi hain, sab usko dekh rahe hain. And, she is a very quiet, independent and calm girl, she doesn’t need us all the time. Khelti rehti hai badiya apne mai vo.
But missing his favorite festival, Ganesh Chaturthi had really disappointed Rahul. For him, the festival means a lot because it is an annual ritual. But this year, owing to dengue, he and Disha could not be able to join in the celebrations. “We were just lying in the bed all the while. The prasad, attending guests and managing everything was taken care of by my mom. In fact, mere doston ne aake visarjan Kiya, hum kuch nahi karpaaye. I felt really bad.”. I love this festival and I had to miss it like this, he lamented.
Road to Recovery
Rahul and Disha have come out of the woods. Not quite there yet, though. They are tolerating extreme weakness and taking all precautionary measures. “We are taking it slow-on light food and no workouts, and working on building strength back up. It would take some time to regain full energy, but we’re thankful to be on the mend,” Rahul Vaidya has said.
As the treatment progressed in the case of the couple, the entire journey thus far has indicated how dengue fever can be intense, how important it is to avoid mosquito bites, and the strength of family and friends when things get challenging. Fans have been heaping on love and good wishes their way in hopes of seeing them back in full health sooner rather than later.
